APD stand for...
Assalamualaikum WBT & Salam Sejahtera
The Automated Peritoneal Dialysis or APD is convenient solution to young patients suffering from renal failure. Which is the youngest patient have kidney failure just like my little sister, the youngest patient is Nur Alisa Maisarah Roslan, aged one and half in that year 2006 who was born with chronic renal failure early 2005.
At that time, the year i was taking SPM, is been really hard and crucial year for me. Nur Alisa was put on a haemodialysis machine for two weeks at Pediatric Institute Hospital Kuala Lumpur which is the current location that i'm staying now before being put on the APD at home. Kinrara Puchong my old house, too much memory there.
Flashback, Lisa treated with love and care by Bonda & siblings. We took turns to clean the room mother every day, like a room at the hospital to undergo treatment for Lisa APD (Peritoneal Dialysis) at home for 8pm until 6am. 10 hours! . Condition of the room should be clean, without dust, hands should be cleaned before treatment begins.
My mother says that my little sister weight has stabilised at 8kg but milk still has to be fed through her nose. This is because Nur Alisa don't have appetite to eat others food, the Doctor put the tube through the nose and me feels like how Nur Alisa can survive through this procedures. Argh ! i miss her :(
Using APD has given her more time to cook for the family of eight. She does the exchange at 7pm or 8pm when Alisa is asleep. My dad bought an air conditioner for the room to make her comfortable when asleep. If my parents had chosen the CAPD, my mom would have ended up in bed most of the time with her.
APD is better Dialysis therapy, more i typing this, more i crying ! ...fullstop
